I used to spend $4K/M on Etsy Ads…Why did I stop?

So this is a big question I get all the time about Etsy so I thought I’d explain a few things crucial to running ads on Etsy successfully.

In 2023, I averaged over 4K per month in ad spend, the grand total for the year was a little over $51K, with a return over $112K, so it was definitely profitable. (screenshot below)

So why did I STOP running ads in January of 2024?

At the beginning of this year, I decided to dedicate the majority of my business time to my educational Etsy businesses, the 10K Digital Product Profit Formula and now my DFY Trending Product, Prompt & SEO Club

AND SINCE…with a low ticket digital product (under $10) such as tumbler wraps, sublimation designs, digital papers, clip art, junk journal assets, etc., the ONLY time I’ve seen ads WORK is when your customer is buying multiple products from you, like 4–5 at least.

This is because at these price points, you’ll need multiple purchases to cover the ad spend.

In my case, the ads were PROFITABLE because SO many customers bought multiple, RELATED items.
